Founders Story
During my time in London, I had the opportunity to interact with numerous creatives who frequently discussed intellectual property (IP) and its potential benefits for their businesses and careers. I’ve grown up around creatives all my life as my mom was a milliner (hat designer) and all her friends were artists, poets, musicians, writers and everything in between. I loved seeing how passionate they were and the excitement for life they had when they brought their ideas to life.
Although I was around so much creativity and love the creative process, I chose law as a career path. My favourite module was Intellectual Property law and decided to literally become a master on the subject so I moved to London to study an MSc in Intellectual property law.
Passion to work with creatives
Whilst living in London, I met many creatives who always quizzed me on IP and how it could help them in their businesses and careers. This made me quickly became the go to person regarding matters on IP. I was surprised at the lack of knowledge creatives had on IP as the majority are self employed but my Photographer friend informed me that majority of creatives don’t actually learn how to run a business.
Realising how many creatives were experiencing the same problems with their IP I knew there needed to be products and services available to help educate, empower and protect. This birthed Lawful Creators and my passion to work with creatives to turn their ideas into lucrative assets, ensuring they maximise their potential and gifts.

Chief Executive Officer
Kelsey Morgan is a specialist in intellectual property law, with over ten years’ experience working in the field and supporting creatives. She founded Lawful Creators with the aim of transforming the legal landscape and ensuring that creatives fully understand their rights over their work. Based in Birmingham, Kelsey is also a mentor to fellow start-up entrepreneurs, sharing her expertise and guidance to help them grow and succeed.
Chief Operating Officer
Fiz Vancasso is a London-based photographer with over five years’ experience working on a range of projects, from world-renowned festivals like Wireless to professional sporting events at Wembley. He co-founded Lawful Creators to empower fellow creatives with the knowledge and tools to protect their intellectual property, so they can not only create, but also profit and prosper from the work they love.
